Tip Jar on Hearnow

Posted on 2020-07-30 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

tipjarOne of the many ways you can track down the different releases of Derivations is via my Hearnow page. There, you can find links to Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer, and Bandcamp releases of the album. Now, there’s another link available on my Hearnow page – a tip jar!

I’ll admit right here and now that making music isn’t cheap. Case in point: every dollar from the sale of the signed & numbered Collector’s Edition CDs of Derivations was reinvested right back into my musical setup by way of the purchase of a $750+ (incl. tax) brass and woodwind library for Native Instruments Kontakt. If you did the math on the Collector’s Edition sale, you’ll understand that a goodly amount of my own money went into that purchase as well. There will be more purchases in the future, of course, to keep up with the times.

I’m not asking for a hand-out, just a hand. If you go to my Hearnow page for Derivations and like what you hear, or if you just want to support me in my musical endeavors, please go to my Hearnow page for Derivations and look on the left column of the screen for the icon of the hand holding a dollar sign. That will take you to my Paypal.Me page, where you can leave a tip. I would appreciate any amount you can leave.

Thank you for your support!

Derivations Pre-Order Sale On!

Posted on 2020-05-26 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

Apple MusicIt’s official: you can now pre-order my new album, Derivations, on iTunes and Apple Music! The sale began on Friday worldwide. I wish I had some way of keeping track of the statistics, but my distributor, CD Baby, won’t have any stats for another week. In any case, if you purchase a copy of the album before the June 5th release date, you’ll get early access to the lead track, “CyberFlight.” Please pick up a copy today!

Also new this week is my Hearnow page for Derivations. Many of you may remember my Hearnow page for my Calibrations album. This is pretty much the same. Go to my Derivations Hearnow page and you’ll find 30-second-long previews of all eleven tracks off of the album, plus links to the stores where they can be purchased (only iTunes and Apple Music for now, but that will update as new sites become available) and to my social media pages.

UPDATE: Still no news on whether or not CD Baby’s distribution warehouse is going to reopen by June 5th. They’re located in Oregon – Portland, specifically, one of the more paranoid areas when  it comes to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. In other words, it doesn’t look good. For now, your best bet if you want a high-quality audio release of Derivations would be to follow me on Bandcamp. I’ll send out notifications to all followers when the album comes out. All but tracks 2 and 11 (which were originally recorded at 44KHz/16-bit) will be released at 96KHz/24-bit resolution. Not a bad reason to pick them up!

The Derivations CDs Are Here!

Posted on 2020-05-08 Written by D. Lee Jackson 1 Comment

Derivations CDThe CDs are here! They arrived Thursday afternoon. I’ve already quality checked one, including playing it, and it was perfect!

The next step is to get a supply sent to CD Baby for distribution. As of this date, CD Baby’s warehouse is still closed, so it is uncertain whether or not CD sales on Amazon will be available on the drop date of June 5th. MP3 sales will be available, of course, both on Amazon and on Bandcamp.

“Why can’t you ship the CDs now that you have them?” is the question I’m hearing from the third row. Aside from my disabilities, I’m just not set up to handle large scale sales and shipping from my home. I will be running a very small scale exclusive sale on eBay as the drop date nears, however. I’ll offer 10 signed and numbered CDs, just like I did with my Calibrations release. (I may also offer special commissioned signed sales as well. Talk to me about pricing.)

I appreciate your patience while this COVID-19 mess is sorted out. Until then, please keep your fingers crossed and count the days until June 5th!

Derivations CDs On The Way!

Posted on 2020-05-04 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

Derivations CoverAt long last, the CDs for my Derivations album are on the way! CD Baby’s duplication center has finished printing them and has packed them up and labeled them for UPS Ground pickup later today. I can’t wait for them to finally get on the road!

However, CD Baby’s physical warehouse is still closed at this time. I’ve called them and asked for advice on how to get my CDs to them (when it comes to their printers and their warehouse, the artist is the go-between). They’ve advised me to go ahead and mail stock to them, but they’ve also warned me that it won’t be available for purchase at Amazon until the warehouse reopens. Digital and streaming releases will still be available on schedule on June 5th, as planned. Cross your fingers for the CD release.

To somewhat mitigate this situation, I am going to make the high-resolution 96KHz/24-bit digital files available from my Bandcamp account on June 5th as well. Click here to follow me on Bandcamp for further information when the release date approaches.

The excitement level is growing! Stay tuned!
