Derivations Pre-Order On Amazon!

Posted on 2020-05-30 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

Derivations CoverThis is the big one! My new album, Derivations, is available for pre-order on Amazon! Just like on iTunes and Apple Music, if you order now, you’ll get early access to track one of the album, “CyberFlight.” Now’s your chance – click here to pre-order Derivations on Amazon!

In other news, the pre-order sale of Derivations on iTunes and Apple Music is still going strong. Grab your copy now if you’re on the Apple platform.

Also, if you’d like to listen to excerpts from Derivations before you buy, you can always visit my Hearnow page. There, you’ll find 30-second excerpts of all eleven tracks, plus links to my social media sites and links to where you can buy the album.

UPDATE: Still no news as to whether CD Baby’s distribution warehouse in Portland, Oregon will be open in time for the release date of Derivations. As a result, I would not count on being able to purchase a physical CD from Amazon when June 5th rolls around. However, I will be announcing the details of a special eBay sale of ten signed and numbered CDs shortly after the release date, so please stay tuned for that.

Derivations Pre-Order Sale On!

Posted on 2020-05-26 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

Apple MusicIt’s official: you can now pre-order my new album, Derivations, on iTunes and Apple Music! The sale began on Friday worldwide. I wish I had some way of keeping track of the statistics, but my distributor, CD Baby, won’t have any stats for another week. In any case, if you purchase a copy of the album before the June 5th release date, you’ll get early access to the lead track, “CyberFlight.” Please pick up a copy today!

Also new this week is my Hearnow page for Derivations. Many of you may remember my Hearnow page for my Calibrations album. This is pretty much the same. Go to my Derivations Hearnow page and you’ll find 30-second-long previews of all eleven tracks off of the album, plus links to the stores where they can be purchased (only iTunes and Apple Music for now, but that will update as new sites become available) and to my social media pages.

UPDATE: Still no news on whether or not CD Baby’s distribution warehouse is going to reopen by June 5th. They’re located in Oregon – Portland, specifically, one of the more paranoid areas when  it comes to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. In other words, it doesn’t look good. For now, your best bet if you want a high-quality audio release of Derivations would be to follow me on Bandcamp. I’ll send out notifications to all followers when the album comes out. All but tracks 2 and 11 (which were originally recorded at 44KHz/16-bit) will be released at 96KHz/24-bit resolution. Not a bad reason to pick them up!

Derivations Album Now In Pre-Production!

Posted on 2020-04-14 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

Derivations CoverAt last, Derivations is in pre-production! I uploaded the songs and the artwork to CD Baby today, and I’ve placed the order for the CDs and the physical/digital distribution. Everything is in the inspection phase at the moment, but the gears are in motion for a release!

Now, I can finally show you a sneak peek of the cover art for the CD! It’s the image that’s been uploaded with this post. I’ll be uploading a larger version on Facebook, so head over to my Facebook account if you want to see it. The design is a derivation (get it? eh?) of the Calibrations CD cover design. (It may not be mathematically correct, but that’s beside the point.) I want to thank Rob Curulli for bringing the design to life.

The way things look right now, it appears the digital release may take place before the physical release, although I’m trying to time the two so that they’ll come out together. The digital files are on a course for a June 5th release, however iTunes users can pre-order the album beginning May 22nd (if it passes inspection!). Those who pre-order on iTunes will receive track one, “CyberFlight,” as an “instant gratification” track, and will automatically receive the remainder of the album upon release.

Watch for more details as they become available. Time to start getting excited!
