New Album Coming Out November 4th

Posted on 2022-09-11 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

LoudspeakerHere’s a long overdue announcement for you today. I’ve got a new album coming out in a couple of months! The details are as follows:

Album Title: “Lady Tygress’ Suite and Other Commissions”

Release Date: November 4th, 2022

Release Formats: Physical CD, Digital (w/bonus material), and Streaming

It’ll be a jacketed CD release this time – times are tough, and money is tight. CDs will be distributed via CD Baby to Amazon and all the other usual suspects. I might do another eBay auction of the first ten numbered/signed CDs, like I did with the first ten Calibrations and Derivations CDs.

Of course, it’ll be available for streaming on all the major outlets to which CD Baby distributes (Spotify, YouTube, etc.). I’ll also have it up on Bandcamp for Digital download, with some bonus material like liner notes, album art, and maybe something else.

Along with the new tracks, the album will include some previously released singles, including the soundtrack I wrote for Dan Douglas’s Duke Smoochem 3D demo. Now will be your chance to get this and more if you missed them previously.

This will be my fourth album, so what better date to release it on than the 4th of November. Look for it then!

Parts Bought, Commissions Still Open

TechnologyReaction to my announcement of limited commissions being open has been astounding. PCGamer first picked up the announcement, then USA Today published an article about it! As a result, I got quite a few e-mails about commissions, and have since signed agreements to do several of those. In fact, I’ve already finished my first commission, and I’d like to thank the commissioner, Fernando Calvo Schiappacasse, for trusting me to get the job done!

If you will remember, I was opening commissions primarily so I could finish buying parts for a computer build.  Well, thanks to what I’ve done so far, along with an eBay sale of some excess laptop RAM, I’ve been able to buy the remainder of those parts! The last part, the motherboard, was purchased over the weekend and is en route. I’m extremely grateful to finally be able to do this.

Does this mean that I’m going to close commissions, now that I’ve bought my parts? Not by a long shot. There are end-of-year bills to pay, and I need to boost the household income. There are also other items I’d like to buy for the finished new Music Computer, like a breath controller for composing more lifelike brass and woodwind parts with Cakewalk for Bandlab. So, for the foreseeable future, I will be keeping commissions open.

Once again, if you are interested in a commission, please drop by my Commissions page. I look forward to hearing from you!

And Like That … It’s Gone

Empty RoomMy gratitude goes out to the person who must have read my last blog post, for they acted quickly and snatched up the very last signed & numbered CD of Derivations that will ever be made. Thank you very much indeed! As soon as I hear back from you concerning the question I sent on eBay, I will ship out your CD to you. Much obliged, and many thanks!

So, now we wait for CD Baby to reopen their warehouse so that CD sales can begin on Amazon. You can already buy the MP3 album from Amazon, but I’ll be happy when people can get the physical product in their hands. Watch this space for updates, and cross your fingers that the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t shut everything down again.

There Can Be Only One

Derivations CoverThe eBay sale of the signed & numbered Derivations CDs got off to a quick start. Five CDs were purchased on the very first day! After that, there was a bit of a lull, until I went onto Discord one day and managed to sell three more very quickly. Another person bought the ninth CD shortly thereafter.

So, now it’s down to this. There is only one signed & numbered CD left, and it’s yours for the taking at $50 (plus shipping) on eBay.

I’ve added an extra benefit to the deal. Back at the beginning of the year, I had some very fancy dual-sided business cards with my picture on them printed up for Jon St. John’s “NotCon at Sea” cruise-confab. I’m enclosing one of these inside the CD case with the purchase. I’m also still autographing a dedication at the top of the CD cover (leave me a note with your purchase saying what you’d like written there).

This is the last one, folks. After this, there will never be another signed & numbered Derivations CD. Please grab your copy today!
