I am experiencing a great deal of trepidation over what I did last night.
I queried an agent about representing my sci-fi novel.
I wouldn’t have done it out of the blue if the agent in question hadn’t advertised that they’re doing a “Feedback Giveaway.” Basically, they’ve promised to respond to all queries submitted, and apparently not with form letters for ones that he won’t pursue. Rather, he says he will “reply with 1-2 sentences giving the honest reason it didn’t work for me.” That’s rare. That’s also probably the reason that it’s going to be “the last for a while.” I can imagine how busy he’s going to be.
In any case, I’ve done it—I’ve officially approached an agent about my book, for the very first time! My hopes aren’t high, since he only wanted to see the first five pages of a submitter’s manuscript, and the real fun doesn’t start until page seven.
Regardless, please wish me luck! I could sure use some today.
