Derivations Audio Passes Inspection – June 5th Digital Release Date Confirmed!

Posted on 2020-04-26 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

magnifying glassThe Derivations album cleared another major hurdle over the past couple of days when its audio passed CD Baby’s rigorous inspection process. That means the audio is now ready for release on the scheduled June 5th date on streaming and digital sales platforms, including Amazon Digital, Apple Music, iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Pandora, and many more! This also confirms the May 22nd pre-order date on iTunes.

The situation with the CDs is a bit different. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CD Baby has closed their warehouse and is not stocking any releases at this time. I may receive the CDs from their duplication partner in time for the distribution date, but as long as their warehouse remains closed, I won’t be able to send in any CDs for them to sell physically on Amazon.

However, a few lucky people will be able to lay hands upon a Derivations CD regardless of the situation. Just as I did with the Calibrations CDs, I will be offering for sale ten signed and numbered Derivations CDs on eBay shortly after I receive them. This will be the only set that I will sign and number, making it a unique collectible. I’ll announce more details as the sale approaches.

I’ll also eventually be making a high-resolution 96KHz/24-bit version of the album (with the exception of one song – details later) on Bandcamp. If you want to be notified of when I release this, please go to my Bandcamp page and sign up to follow me (no spam, I promise).

The release is getting closer—please keep your eyes open!

New Album Coming in 2020 – “Derivations”

Posted on 2020-02-01 Written by D. Lee Jackson Leave a Comment

CDSeamlessAlmost two years after the publication of my first album, Calibrations, I am now ready to announce the upcoming release of my second album, Derivations.

Dictionary.com defines “Derivation” as:

  1. the act or fact of deriving or of being derived.
  2. the process of deriving.
  3. the source from which something is derived; origin.
  4. something that is or has been derived; derivative.

I see Derivations as an extension of Calibrations, with Calibrations being the source.

When finished, Derivations will contain ten tracks (I’ve got eight in the bag now and am working on number nine), including the previously-released single, “What It Shall Be.” The completed album will be released for physical CD and streaming distribution via CD Baby. Later, high-resolution versions of almost all of the tracks (more on this as the release date approaches) will be released via the Bandcamp service.

The CD will be released prior to the end of 2020 (with any luck, significantly prior to the end of 2020). Watch for updates and further announcements!
