On this first day of 2016, I have witnessed my wife do something she has never done before: bolt out the door in search of a cat. Her group is still trying to round up all of the lost pet cats from last Saturday’s EF-4 tornado, but the group’s intentions have been stymied by red tape, mainly caused by an absentee apartment complex owner who doesn’t want to risk the liability of letting people onto his tornado-ravaged property. Politicians and various agencies have tried to persuade him, to no avail. My wife’s group has had to resort to setting up traps at the perimeter of the property.
Moments ago, she got a call from a security guard. A cat has taken the bait and is in one of the traps.
I give her credit for what she does, even if the group hasn’t been able to reunite all of the lost cats with their owners. They did manage one such reunion last night, with a cat who looked like it hadn’t eaten for five days (it probably hadn’t). At last check, the cat is recovering.
With this in mind, I come to the portion of the show where I ask for your help. The group she works with is in desperate need of more traps and kennels so that they can cover more area. If you can spare the change, please visit this website:
